Dr. Steele grew up in Northern Ontario in Sudbury. Her interest in animals began at a young age with her love of the family dog “Kelly” which led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph in 1999 and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2002. Upon her graduation, Dr. Steele began her career at the Hawkesbury Animal Hospital, with a special interest in animal behavior and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Steele is an avid runner, having completed her first marathon at the National Capital Marathon Race in May 2001. She lives on a local 6th generation cash crop farm with her husband and 2 young sons. She also shares her home with her black Labrador “Dexter” and extensive feline family.
